What is bleed and why do we need it?

Bleed is the term used for additional printed area beyond the area that you will be trimming. This is done to allow for a small margins of error in measurements.

can your wallpaper be applied to any surface?

You need to have a clean and smooth surface to apply your  wallpaper on and all old wallpaper must have been removed. In addition to your walls, decals can also be stuck on tiles, wood, melamine and glass.

What happens if my wall extends past 3m high?

In this case we will need to supply your wallpaper in panels, as the maximum height we can print is 3m.

Ok, I have found what I am looking for, how do I make payment?

Cape Town Wall Design has partnered with Payfast for quick, easy and secure payments. Payment methods include: Credit and Debit Card, as well as Instant EFT (available to all major South African Banks). Alternatively, pay over 6 weeks, interest-free using Payflex.

Is hanging the wallpaper hard? Can I do it myself?

Depending on the size of your wallpaper, it can be challenging doing it yourself. Therefore, we recommend 2 people do the installation to help achieve the best results. Click here for our step by step guide on how to do a DIY installation.

Do you offer installation?

Yes, we provide an installation service within 50km from any main centers throughout South Africa. If you are located more than 50km outside of a main center, we will get in touch to send a separate quote for installation.

IS the glue included with the wallpaper? If not, what glue should I use and how much?

Glue is not included with your wallpaper purchase. If you would like to do your own installation you can find most of the necessary equipment from your local hardware stores like, Builders Warehouse. Just make sure you buy enough for your size wallpaper and ensure that it is a water-based wallpaper adhesive.
Please note: If you have chosen our installation option for your wallpaper, our installers will provide all the necessary tools and glue.

Can I hang my wallpaper in the bathroom?

Yes, our wallpaper is durable and water resistant. Steam from the shower or bathroom is OK for our wallpaper, however, make sure not to put wallpaper in an area where the base of it sits in water, like behind the taps on the sink or bath. Or even directly behind a basin.

I have purchased my wallpaper but have now decided I would like someone to install it for me. Is this possible?

Yes this is possible, as long as the wallpaper is undamaged and you not already attempted to install it yourself. Just click here and send us an email requesting the change. We will then be in contact with the installation costs.

I have a picture I found on another website that I would like to use as my wallpaper, is this possible?

Of course, however there are a couple of requirements. The quality and size of the image will depend on the size of your wallpaper. As a general rule, the image you supply us should either be hi-res or in a vector format. Do not worry, we don’t expect you to know all the technical details. How long will it take to get my wallpaper?

Deliveries for Cape Town will take between 3-5 working days. For anywhere else outside Cape Town (within South Africa) will be between 7-10 working days.

Does your wallpaper have a strong smell and/or contain harmful chemicals.

Our wallpaper is printed on a specifically designed non-toxic product, and has no strong printing smells! Therefore, they are safe to use in children’s rooms.

Can I wipe the wallpaper if it gets a mark on it?

Yes, you can gently rub the wallpaper with a soft sponge, but the cleaning solution should not contain any kind of bleach as this would affect the fabric face of the wallpaper. Please bear in mind that some stains and marks will be permanent, such as permanent markers, khokis, crayons etc.

What is your refund policy?

The products that we create are custom made to order, just for you. We therefore do not offer any refunds on unwanted products. If, however, your order is incorrect or damaged, please click here and contact us with more information. We are unable to make refunds for incorrectly measured walls, and we accept no responsibility for defective installation, nor will we accept any consequential loss, refer to full terms and conditions for details. It is the customers' responsibility to check the product on receipt and before hanging to a wall surface. We are unable to offer any refunds resulting from incorrect hanging of your products.
